Union School Locked Down During Burglary Incident

A Union elementary school was placed on lock down Wednesday morning after a home was burglarized in a neighborhood nearby.

Around 8:40 a.m., Tulsa Police were made aware of a burglary at a home near the 3400 block of S. 86th East Ave. During their search for the suspect, officers informed Jarman Elementary of the burglary, which prompted them to place the school on lock down.

TPD's Leland Ashley told KTUL that there was never any danger or threat toward the elementary school. The move to place the school on lock down was just a precautionary measure.

The school was taken off the lock down around 10:35 a.m. and activities resume as usual.

Ashley said that officers are still looking for the suspects. No information was given about their appearance.
