A man is in the hospital after an attempted robbery and shooting overnight in east Tulsa near 21st and Garnett.
The victim was walking to his apartment in the area of 2100 South 109th East Ave. at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, when he was approached by five or six black males, police say.
The suspects reportedly asked for money from the victim, a hispanic male, and told him not to run. The victim then started running, at which point he was shot in the upper back and leg, police say.
He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
The victim was not robbed of any money. There were no vehicles seen and there is not much suspect information at this point. The victim said he did not know the suspects.
