A Vinita woman was killed early Sunday Morning after the car she was driving ran off the road and into a creek.
It happened on a county road about two miles South of Vinita around 2A.M..
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells KTUL.com, the victim is identified as Shelly Long, 46. OHP says the vehicle Long was driving left the roadway, struck a guardrail and plunged into a nearby creek.
According to the report released by OHP, Long died as a result of the injuries she sustained at the scene.
Another person was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. He was transported by Mercy EMS to a nearby hospital in Vinita with minor injuries and later released.
Troopers believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
