Wagoner County Under Burn Ban
The Wagoner County Board of Commissioners voted today in favor of a seven-day burn ban for the county effective immediately.
The resolution says that anyone found setting fire to any forest, grass, range, crop or other wildlands, campfire or bonfire, trash or other material that may cause a fire will be punished with a fine no more than $500 and possibly up to a year in jail.
Exceptions are gas grills, charcoal grills and smokers if they are on a minimum of a 10 by 10 foot concrete pad. Welding is permitted if a permit has been obtained from the local fire department and pressurized water is nearby.
