Woman Reports Hitting Bear with Vehicle in Adair County

A woman hit a bear with her car Wednesday evening near 51 E. Near Top Bluff in Adair.

It happened around 9pm. The woman was not injured, but the bear reportedly suffered injuries from the accident.

Officials with the Adair County Sheriff's Office told KTUL that the bear left the scene and has not been located since.

Oklahoma Wildlife Services are now looking for the bear.

Adair County Sheriff David Harding advises anyone who sees the bear not to render aid but call police. The injured bear is a danger to anyone around it.

Police had gotten a call before from the same woman who woman said a bear was in her yard.
