Young Adults Come Together For Event in Okmulgee
A group of young adults are getting ready for the 2nd Annual Grown and Saved Young Adult Summit in Okmulgee, Saturday evening.
"Recently a group of young people from Okmulgee, OK came together to begin planning a one day summit to encourage young adults across the State of Oklahoma," says Coordinator Nijah Chnai. "Realizing that most of our peers from ages 21-35 are experiencing major life events such as graduating college, marriage, or starting a new family, etc. we also have come to understand that with these experiences many hardships occur."
The summit is based on a bible verse, Jeremiah 17:8, "They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
"Our desire is to reignite the foundation in which our peers have been taught to stand on; a foundation of faith, resiliency and courage," explains Chnai. "During the Annual Summit we will not only encourage attendees but create a network so that when one is down, another is there to help."
The event will take place at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church at 6:00 p.m. in Okmulgee. It will be featuring: Nijah Chnai, Tyron Hall, C. Hope, Parris Hoskins, Recon Productions, Chosen Ministries of Victory Christian Center, Lacy Stompers, Kevin Quezada and more.
