Man Reportedly Rapes Girlfriend, Tries to Set Her on Fire

A 38-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly raped his girlfriend and tried to set her on fire.

The Tulsa police report says the suspect, Roger Ellis, punched his girlfriend, beat her with a large "whacking stick" and threw her to the ground.

Then the suspect reportedly poured alcohol on the victim and attempted to set her on fire with Coleman fuel and a lighter.

The victim told police she didn't try to stop the suspect from having sex with her because she was afraid he would continue to beat her.

Ellis is being held on over $100,000 bond.
