7 new flu deaths reported in Tulsa County, 45 state-wide
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- State health officials are reporting 23 new flu deaths, three of which are confirmed to have occurred in the last week. In total, 45 people have died from flu-related illness this season.
According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, some of the new deaths occurred previously but were only recently reported.
In Tulsa County, 10 people have died from flu-related illness, up seven from last week. Oklahoma County has seen three deaths.
More than 1,400 people have been hospitalized, nearly 300 of which happened in the last week.
