Admiral Twin re-opens Friday for its 67th season (KTUL)

Tulsa's iconic drive-in theater opens back up Friday night. This is the 67th year for the Admiral Twin Drive-In.

The theater will only be open on weekends until May, then they'll be open seven days a week for the summer season.

"It's kind of an icon of the area, it's kind of what give's Tulsa a little bit of flavor," said Blake Smith, co-owner of the theater. "I'm proud of be involved in it."

Every year, the drive-in open is like a blessing to Smith. A fire burned down the theater in 2010, and they missed their 2011 season.

"That was a tough year, but I thank the community for coming through to help us re-open," said Smith

For Friday's re-opening, they're having a double feature.

People can pick between Peter Rabbit and Jumanji or A Wrinkle In time and Black Panther.

Admission is $7.

Gates open at 6:45 p.m. and show time starts at 7:15 p.m.
