Broken Arrow park reopen after sewer leak
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (KTUL) —
A Broken Arrow park is reopened after a sewer leak.
Sieling Park, near West Kenosha Street and North Elm Place, was closed Tuesday after increased levels of E. coli in the creek, according to the city of Broken Arrow. A contractor at a private construction site near the BA Expressway and Elm caused the leak after damaging a sewer line last week.
The leak flowed downstream and into Sieling Park, according to the city. Residents are being warned to stay out of the creek.
Workers have vacuumed up the sewage and dumped fresh water into the creek. The rain in the forecast is also expected to help solve the issue, the city says.
The contractor has agreed to pay for repairs to the sewer line.
