Claremore woman gets 25 years in prison for 2016 bank robbery
CLAREMORE, Okla. (KTUL) —
A Claremore woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for robbing a bank last year.
Sharlene Owens, 34, pleaded no contest to a felony first-degree robbery charge. Owens admitted to police that she stole a gun from her father and robbed a BancFirst in Claremore, according to the district attorney's office. Owens also pointed the gun at the teller and threatened to shoot.
Police say Owens admitted to committing other robberies in Tulsa County while being questioned about the Claremore robbery.
Owens must also pay nearly $5,500 in restitution.
