Texas man killed in crop duster crash near Enid

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man is dead after a small plane crash near Enid.

Troopers say they started receiving calls about the crash involving a crop duster in a wheat field just north of Enid around 7:10 a.m. Tuesday. The pilot of the plane, 52-year-old Rodney Sherry of Texas, was killed in the crash.

The plane reportedly hit a guideline wire before it crashed, according to OHP.

Troopers say the plane was owned by Deterding Aerial Spraying.
