It looked like a creek with all the running water from a water main break in west Tulsa, but it's the side of the road at 79th and Charles Page Blvd.

"I saw the water break and automatically knew there wasn't going to be school today," said Kelscy Barton.

Barton wanted to get a closer look for herself, driving through gushing water to Miss Mandi's Preschool.

"It's a little frustrating," said Barton.

"I saw the water and was thinking this was no good," said teacher, Amanda Zuniga.

The daycare was forced to closed, turning away about 40 kids in the process after a 12-inch pipe burst overnight.

"Our water pressure is almost gone, and so our toilets are having problems flushing," said teacher, Amber Harrison. "We can't have kids without running water."

It wasn't until 9 a.m. when crews finally got to work on the pipe. According to the city, they were out working on another water main break in town and didn't have the man power to fix this one.

Crews expect repairs to take all day.
