Escaped inmate captured in Muskogee County
MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) —
The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that an inmate who escaped custody Tuesday has been captured in Muskogee County.
Skipper Eugene Rowland, 35, escaped a transport vehicle near Dewar Tuesday and stole a nearby pickup, according to the sheriff's office. Muskogee County Sheriff Rob Frazier said Rowland was caught in a home in Warner, where he is from.
Frazier said deputies had to call in a police K9 to get into the house because Rowland would not come out, but he was then arrested without incident.
Rowland cooperated with deputies and led them to the red pickup he allegedly stole in Okmulgee County, Frazier said.
