Governor tours tornado damage in midtown Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Governor Mary Fallin toured the area damaged by an EF-2 tornado in midtown Tulsa Tuesday.
Fallin, along with Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum, toured the area near Promenade Mall, one of the hardest hit areas during the storm that damaged nearly 150 businesses and sent more than two dozen people to the hospital.
Police reopened 41st Street overnight Tuesday, but cleanup in the area is expected to take a significant amount of time.
Fallin has yet to declare a disaster in the area, which would give businesses a chance to apply for federal relief funding.
