How to help the world's orphans this Father's Day
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- Instead of a tie, power tools or watch, one organization is encouraging you to give dad something else this Father's Day.
Miracle Foundation is a non-profit empowering orphans to reach their full potential.
They are launching a #CheersToDad campaign this Father's Day in hopes of getting gift-givers to raise funds for these children.
By buying dad a "virtual drink" during the campaign, Tito's Handmade Vodka and other donors will match your donation.
Here's how you can honor a dad:
-$20: Buy a dad a virtual drink (and you, too!)
-$50: Buy a dad the bottle
-$100: Buy a dad & friends a round of drinks
-$300: Buy the whole bar a drink!
Donors will receive a certificate to give to dad letting him know he's being honored with a donation to support children without a father figure.
Patrice Lott said after visiting these children several years ago, she does anything she can to help.
“My son sponsored me on a trip one year and I got to visit two or three orphanages and I just saw the work that they do," said Lott. "They help these children. They provide a good life for them and a quality life by their standards.”
There are more than 132 million orphans in the world.
Donations are tax-deductible.
