WEATHER ALERT: Isolated severe storms possible Tuesday afternoon and night
The end of February is not the typical time we talk about severe weather, but the spring storm season appears to be starting earlier.
We could see a few severe storms develop this afternoon and evening across eastern Oklahoma, but the better threat for organized severe storms with tornadoes should be to the east of the area in Missouri and Arkansas.
The main threat with any isolated storm that develops would be large hail and gusty winds. The tornado threat is low. A cold front will sweep across the area early Wednesday morning, ending the storm chances.
It would be a good idea to download the KTUL weather app on your smartphone if you haven't already done so. You can track the storms plus get the latest watches and warnings for your area.
