Local students meet Vice President Mike Pence

VP's tweets picture of him shaking the hand of 6th grader McKenzie Blanchard

A group of about 17 Carnegie Elementry students from Tulsa recently took a trip to Washington D.C.

They're learning more about history and their country.

They even went to Arlington National Cemetary where Ace Hughes found his great grandfather's grave.

Now that's cool but get this...the group also went to the capital where they met Vice President Mike Pence.

In fact, this is the VP's tweet of him shaking the hand of 6th grader McKenzie Blanchard as her classmate MaKenzie Wiegers looks on seemingly amazed at what's happening.

School Tours of America sponsored the trip.

Teachers Deadra Kilgor and Cathy Essley lead the excursions.
