OKC man arrested, accused of shining laser at police helicopter
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
A metro man was arrested after he allegedly pointed a laser at a police helicopter.
The Oklahoma City Police Department reports that at 11 p.m. Dec. 26 a police helicopter notified dispatch that a green laser was being pointed at them from the second story of a home in the 1800 block of NW 12 Street.
Officers tracked down the source of the beam and made contact with the homeowners. A woman at the home stated that her brother, 19-year-old Iban Balderas, was the one shining the laser.
Balderas led officers to an upstairs bedroom of the home, where they found the laser underneath a couch near a window.
Balderas was then arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of violation of the Laser Safety Act.
