Police arrest man, identify victim in fatal north Tulsa shooting

Tulsa police have identified the victim who died Saturday after being shot in north Tulsa.

Police say 17-year-old Johnece Haney was killed in what appeared to be an accidental shooting. Officers are not ruling out the possibility that it was a homicide, and 20-year-old Norris Williams has been arrested on a manslaughter complaint.

Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker said Williams accidentally shot himself in the hand, and the bullet went through and hit Haney in the chest. Additionally, a 21-year-old man fell and caused a gun in his pocket to go off, shooting himself in the leg, Walker said.

The victims were just friends visiting a home near North Hartford Ave and East 54th Street North. There were six adults and one child in the house at the time of the shooting, according to police.
