Tulsa police say a man has died after being shot near a restaurant in Tulsa early Sunday morning.

TPD says officers were called to Tacos Don Francisco at 21st and Memorial around 3 a.m. on reports that a man had been shot.

When they arrived at the scene they found 36-year-old Jose Cordove with a gunshot wound in the parking lot.

The man was rushed to St. John's Hospital where he later died from his injury.

Officers say they believe Cordova was a random victim of an armed robbery attempt.

Security at the parking lot told police they saw an argument in the lot behind where Cordova parked his 2007 Chevrolet 1500 pick up truck. They said they'd heard one shot fired then the suspect ran.

Police say the suspect is a black male driving a medium-sized light colored car similar to an Infinity.

Officers are asking anyone with information on Cordova's whereabouts prior to his murder to please call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-2677or the Homicide Tip Line at 918-798-8477 or email homicide@cityoftulsa.org.
