North Tulsa pastor arrested in same child porn investigation as private school principal

A north Tulsa pastor has been arrested in the same child porn investigation that led to the arrest of a Tulsa private school principal.

Ronald Robinson, a minister in Turley and director of the Third Place Community Foundation, was arrested after admitting to investigators that he had viewed child porn in an online application. He also told detectives that he fantasized about raping and hurting children, according to federal court documents.

Homeland Security Investigations had been monitoring Robinson since November 2015, when an undercover agent spotted him in a chat room for viewing child pornography.

“He admitted to receiving child exploitation materials,” said Deputy Justin Green of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. “He also stated that he has fantasized about raping and hurt children.”

Robinson previously ran the Welcome Table Community Center, a group that ran a food pantry at a former church that burned down earlier this month. He was a prominent member of the north Tulsa community. Neighbor Kaycie Brazell said the allegations are "disgusting."

“I just don’t think there’s any help for people like that," Brazell said. "They can just throw them off a cliff, as far as I’m concerned.”

Brazell says there were children around the building all the time. The food pantry gave out food on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

“On Saturdays, whole families were over there," Brazell said. "And I know he was over there. So, it’s just disgusting.”

Investigators served a search warrant at his home on 63rd Street North and another home on Cincinnati Avenue Thursday morning. There are children’s playsets littering the front lawn on 63rd Street North.

“It’s horrifying,” Green said. “Even to myself as a law enforcement officer, but also as a parent. Anyone with thoughts like that, it’s easy for them to go from thinking it to action.”

Robinson was arraigned Thursday afternoon in the U.S. Federal Courthouse downtown. It’s unclear at this time how many counts he is facing.

Jeffrey Goss, a former principal at the Christian Education Alliance School in south Tulsa, was also arrested in the child porn investigation. An HSI agent says the two used the same application to view child pornography, but the two cases are not related.
