Oklahoma Aquarium announces Shark Week contest to dive with bull sharks (KTUL)

The Oklahoma Aquarium announced Wednesday they are kicking off Shark Week 2018 with an event no one has ever seen before.

One lucky person will get the opportunity to dive with the bull sharks at the aquarium.

The Oklahoma Aquarium has the largest collection of bull sharks in the world. This is the first time the 400,000-gallon tank has ever been opened to an outside diver.

The winner of the contest will be given a 45-pound chain mail suit and GoPro to wear and will swim next to three scuba certified aquarium staff.

Anyone who wants to enter must be at least 18 years or older, be open water certified (or higher) and provide their certification number on the application.

Entry forms must be submitted no later than Wednesday, July 18.

A winner will be drawn via Facebook Live on Thursday, July 19.

The date of the dive and travel will be determined based on the Oklahoma Aquarium's Dive Team schedule and possible media coverage. The winner will get an all expenses paid for trip for themselves and one other person to the aquarium.

The winner will be required to sign a liability release.
