Okmulgee sex offender jailed for kidnapping, molestation of teenager

OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) -- An Okmulgee man is facing charges for the lewd molestation and kidnapping of a teenager.

According to the sheriff's office, Joseph Dorron Smith, 47, kidnapped a teenager from a mobile home park in Okmulgee and sexually assaulted her.

At some point, the sheriff's office says Smith, a registered sex offender, released the victim who then contacted law enforcement.

Smith was located and arrested. He's currently behind bars on $2 million bond.

The sheriff's office says the investigation is ongoing.
