OSBI investigates officer-involved shooting in Bartlesville
BARTLEVSILLE, Okla. (KTUL) —
The Oklahoma Sate Bureau of Investigation is working an officer-involved shooting in Bartlesville.
According to investigators, the Bartlesville Police Department was serving a search warrant to a home for a man facing a drug charge near South Maple Ave and 16th Street. They say when they had the suspect in custody after ordering him to the ground, his mother allegedly pointed a gun and started shooting at the police. An officer returned fire at the shooter and she was hit.
The woman was taken to the hospital and according to Bartlesville police she appeared to be in critical condition.
Investigators say two officers were also injured during the shooting but their injuries are not life-threatening.
OSBI has taken over the investigation.
Neither her identity nor the injured officers' identities have been released.
Police said the man is currently in jail and will be facing drug charges.
