OSBI: Man arrested for threatening Kay County District Attorney

A man has been arrested after being accused of threatening to kill an Oklahoma district attorney.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reports that Joseph Eugene Widener, 52, was arrested March 12. The Ponca City man is accused of calling and threatening to kill Kay County District Attorney Brian Hermanson on March 9.

Widener has allegedly been calling Hermanson for months and demanding money. Last week, he reportedly became upset on the phone and made the threats.

Widener was arrested at his home on a complaint of attempting, conspiring, or endeavoring to perform an act of violence involving serious bodily harm of death.
