Owasso Police arrested one man believed to be involved in a home invasion Friday morning. Officers now continue to look for his accomplice, a woman.

It all started around 9 a.m. on Friday.

A woman called 911 after she said two people broke into her home at The Greens Apartments at 86th Street North and 129th East Avenue.

"The suspects ran off from the apartment into a wooded area near The Greens Apartments, that's also near some of the schools," said Lieutenant Nick Boatman of the Owasso Police Department.

The Eighth Grade Center, Sixth Grade Center, Hodson Elementary, Mid-High School, High School and Friendship Pre-School were all placed on external lockdown. Police said the lockdown was precautionary and there was no known threat to any of the schools. The lockdown was lifted at around 10:40 a.m.

"We greatly appreciate the Owasso Police Department," said Executive Director of Operations for Owasso Public Schools Steve Dunn. "We've got a great working relationship with them, they communicate quickly and accurately."

Early on in their search, police arrested 18-year-old Daniel Montes from Catoosa. Police think he and his accomplice broke into several other apartments.

"He matched the description the female victim gave us," said Boatman. "Once the officers began the search, it was advised by multiple victims that some other apartments had been broken into at The Greens."

The manhunt continued for a female suspect. Owasso Police called on Tulsa County and Rogers County deputies for help.

A majority of their search was in an open field near the apartment complex.

There isn't a good description of the woman, only that she was wearing a gray hoodie. After hours searching in the field, officers left the scene. Now they’re turning to the public for help in identifying her.

The other two other suspects were detained for questioning, but have since been released due to lack of evidence.

The case with be presented to the DA's office.
