Many Bixby parents are now calling for the suspension or resignation of top school officials in Bixby after a bombshell affidavit detailed a sexual assault investigation involving high school football players.

“I think all the adults involved who knew, I think they should be suspended because this is unacceptable,” said Autumn Martin, an alumna of Bixby High School.

When investigators used words like 'cover-up' and 'vague' in an affidavit detailing how Bixby School officials responded to an ongoing sexual assault investigation, Martin had one reaction.

“When there’s a child involved, your first priority as an adult is to protect those children,” said Martin.

“Anytime you use the word 'cover-up,' I expect every parent who has a child in Bixby schools to be concerned,” said Criminal Defense Attorney, Lee Berlin.

Berlin said it’s not just this one sexual assault investigation that concerns him. The shocking revelation in the affidavit is the victim saying that a second sexual assault took place at the same home during the 2016 football season. According to the affidavit, that house is the home of Bixby School Superintendent Kyle Wood.

It’s unclear whether Wood or any other school officials knew of a previous sexual assault, but Berlin said you can bet investigators are looking into it.

“And they did not somehow take that action to protect every child that was around these individuals… permitting child sexual abuse- that has a punishment that will wipe a guy out,” said Berlin.

“Especially hearing this might have happened before, this might not be the tip of the iceberg, it might be chipping at the top of the block,” said Martin.

Martin said she was shaken when she saw the news, mostly because she knows exactly what the victim is going through. She said she’s a past victim of sexual abuse.

“Nobody would listen to me. I needed somebody to get out there, find that information and stand up for me in court,” said Martin, remembering the help she received.

She said she wants the victim to know she’s listening and so are many other people as well.
