Police ID woman shot to death in Woodland Hills mall parking lot
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- Police have identified a woman found shot to death in the parking lot of Woodland Hills mall Thursday night as 21-year-old Samantha Barlow.
Barlow, of McAlester, was a dancer, according to police, who spent her weekends in Tulsa but still lived in McAlester. Her family told officers she was suffering from mental health issues.
Police say they don't believe her shooting was random; rather, she was murdered by someone she knew or it was an accident. Investigators haven't rule out suicide.
Officers responded to the call around 8:30 p.m. outside Texas de Brazil in the mall's south parking lot. Barlow was already dead lying outside her car. Police say they found a small caliber gun and a shell casing near her body but there no direct witnesses have come forward.
Surveillance video didn't give any clues as to what happened, police say, but they believe the shooting happened around 8:10 p.m.. Barlow was last seen alone at Walmart nearby around 7:45 p.m. She was found dead a short time later.
