Police make arrest in deadly December hit-and-run crash
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- Police have arrested a suspect in a deadly December hit-and-run crash in south Tulsa.
Earl Joseph Barnett, 36, was arrested Tuesday for first-degree manslaughter, fatality hit-and-run, causing an accident without a valid driver's license, driving under suspension and a red light violation.
Police say Kevin Rea was hit-and-killed while riding his motorcycle near 66th and Memorial Dec. 4. The suspect ran a red light and took off after the crash.
Police say Onstar led them to the vehicle, owned by Barnett, abandoned behind a church a few blocks away. Barnett was interviewed on the night of the crash but said someone took his car.
Police say phone records showed Barnett at the scene at the time of the crash and OnStar recorded his voice after the collision.
Barnett was arrested in Pryor. He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on $60,000 bond.
