Police: Man arrested after stealing $1, empty wallet at gunpoint

Police say a man is in custody after robbing a man of a pretty small amount of cash.

Officers responded around 2 a.m. to the armed robbery call near Charles Page Boulevard and South 65th West Avenue. The victim told police he was walking near his home when a man in a blue SUV drove up to him, got out and pointed a gun at him demanding money.

Police say the victim only had $1 but cooperated and gave the robber his money. The suspect then told the victim to give him more, so the victim gave him his empty wallet, according to police. The suspect then drove off.

An officer located the suspect's vehicle at the Kum N' Go in Sand Springs. The suspect was stopped and detained. Police say they later found a handgun, gloves and a hat in a trash can near one of the fuel pumps at the gas station.

Police say the man was arrested and booked into jail on armed robbery and firearms complaints.
