Police: Man arrested for manslaughter after teenager shot in neck
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Police say a man is in custody for shooting and killing a teenager late Wednesday night.
Jeremiah Peer, 19, was arrested on a manslaughter complaint for shooting a 17-year-old boy in the neck around 9:40 p.m. near 51st and Hudson, according to police. Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker said evidence suggests Peer had been partaking in "a pattern of unsafe gun practices," and he pointed the gun at the boy when it discharged.
Three other people -- an 18-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman -- were present at the time of the shooting, and they all knew each other. Police say they were interviewed and released.
It doesn't appear that there was any argument before the shooting occurred, according to police.
Two guns were recovered from the house.
