Police: Possible drunk driver in custody after high-speed chase
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Police are trying to determine if a man taken into custody was behind the wheel of a vehicle during an early morning chase in Tulsa.
Around 3:15 a.m., officers tried to stop a black Jeep going more than 100 miles per hour in downtown Tulsa, but the driver didn't stop. Police say the pursuit was called off shortly after due to safety concerns.
Police say they later spotted the Jeep near Admiral and Yale, but the driver again took off. Officers found the vehicle at an apartment complex near Pine and Harvard.
A man was taken into custody for public intoxication, according to police. It's not clear if he was actually the driver of the Jeep, so police are working to confirm that.
