Police search for suspect involved in west Tulsa carjacking of elderly man

Officers say the suspect is a black male with dreadlocks in his early twenties and he stole the elderly man's 2006 Gray Toyota Tundra (KTUL).

Police are searching for a suspect who stole an elderly man's truck at a Braum's near West 51st Street and South 33rd West Avenue Saturday evening.

Officers say an 86-year-old man was leaving the restaurant around 6:30 p.m. when the suspect asked for a ride.

The elderly man said no, then the suspect asked him for a light for his cigarette. When the elderly man pointed out that the cigarette was already lit, the suspect demanded the keys to the man's truck.

Police say they were told the suspect said he had a gun, but never showed it to the man.

The suspect wrestled the keys out of the elderly man's hands and took off in his truck.

TPD says the elderly man is a little shaken up, but otherwise unharmed.
