Police: Shoplifter prompts brief, precautionary lockdown at Owasso schools
OWASSO, Okla. (KTUL) —
Police say two Owasso schools were briefly placed under a precautionary lockdown due to a search for a suspect in the area.
Officers were searching for a shoplifting suspect from the Sam's Club near 96th and 129th, about a mile away from the schools. Police say there was no threat to any of the schools, and the lockdown was merely a precaution.
Less than a week ago, a search for a burglary suspect prompted lockdowns at several schools in the same area. There was also no threat toward any of the schools during that search.
