Police: Woman arrested for stealing ambulance from Tulsa hospital
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Police say a woman is in custody after she tried to steal something on her way out of the hospital.
Officers responded to OSU Medical Center around 3 a.m. Friday after security told police that a woman had stolen a Mercy Regional ambulance from the hospital.
The suspect, Rose Mustin, had just been released from the hospital.
The ambulance was equipped with a GPS unit and could be tracked. The ambulance appeared to be headed west on I-44, so the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Sapulpa police, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office and the Creek County Sheriff's Office set up a multi-county perimeter, according to police.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol located the vehicle on the Turner Turnpike at mile marker 204 and pulled the vehicle over. Mustin was then taken into custody.
Mustin was booked for larceny of a motor vehicle.
