Porter Consolidated Schools closed Friday due to power outage
WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) —
Porter Consolidated Schools in Wagoner County will be closed Friday due to a power outage caused by overnight storms.
Superintendent Mark Fenton said Friday was the district's last day of school. Students will now have to come in on Monday to make up the day.
Graduations that were scheduled for pre-k and kindergarten students will take place Monday, Fenton said.
Wagoner County received significant damage in some areas from last night's storms. Multiple mobile homes were flipped near Porter on Highway 51, and a storage unit was heavily damaged in Porter. Much of the town was without power Friday morning.
The Wagoner County Courthouse is also closed Friday after taking damage in the storms.
