SAND SPRINGS, Okla. (KTUL) -- A 14-year-old boy was arrested Monday at the Sand Springs High School football field for having a gun at school.

Officers were called to the stadium by school officials who learned the student had a gun in a backpack. School officials found the backpack in a locker at the football field and called police.

Sand Springs police say there is no evidence the weapon was going to be used to harm any students.

The teenager was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
