Man gets away after shooting into woman's car at Tulsa Sonic restaurant

A man got away after firing a gun into the car of a Sonic employee early Thursday morning.

According to police, after getting off work, the manager of the Sonic Drive-In near East 21st Street and South Memorial Drive was robbed while getting into her car. The suspect reportedly demanded money from her, and when she tried to close the door on him, he fired one shot and shattered her back window. He then grabbed her money and ran, police say.

The suspect ran east into a nearby apartment complex. TPD used their helicopter and a K9 to search for the suspect but could not find him.

The victim was not hurt during the robbery.

Police say the suspect is a young, thin black male, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He was wearing a white bandana, tan jacket and blue jeans.
