Tahlequah schools closed rest of the week sprinkler system break at elementary school

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (KTUL) -- Tahlequah Public Schools is closed district wide Thursday and Friday after a break in a sprinkler system Tuesday at Heritage Elementary.

Superintendent Lisa Presley posted the announcement on the district's Facebook page Wednesday afternoon, saying repairs and clean-up from the flooding will require the help of a restoration company, which will take time.

Scheduled student activities will go on as planned.

Presley says the district's goal is to be back in session Monday.
