THD: Free pop-up flu shot clinic at Woodland Hills Mall
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
The Tulsa Health Department will host a free flu shot clinic on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Woodland Hills Mall near 71st and Memorial.
The pop-up clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the upper level of the mall across from Bath and Body works.
THD Division Chief of Preventive Health Priscilla Haynes said the high numbers of flu-associated hospitalizations and deaths across the state underscores the importance of prevention measures like the flu shot.
The vaccine can help you from getting the flu, keep you from spreading the virus to others and make the illness less severe if you do get it.
Everyone over six months old are encouraged to get the flu shot.
The flu shots at the pop-up clinic will be free.
On top of receiving the flu shot, the THD also reminds you of some prevention tips. Wash your hands a lot with soap and water or alcohol-based products like hand gels. Use tissues to cover coughs and sneezes, then throw them away and wash your hands. If tissues are not immediately available, you can use your sleeve, but never use your hands. If you are sick, stay home from work, school and other public places. Avoid being near people who are sick.
The flu vaccine is still available on a walk-in basis Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the James O. Goodwin Health Center, Central Regional Health Center and North Regional Health and Wellness Center.
For more information, you can call 918-582-9355 or visit the THD website.
To save time on Saturday, you can print the vaccination form, fill it out and bring it with you when you go to the clinic.
