Tulsa firefighters battle house fire in midtown
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
The Tulsa Fire Department is at the scene of a house fire in midtown.
Crews were called to a home near Riverside Drive and East 49th Street just before 11:30 a.m. on reports that a gas meter caught fire.
When they arrived the home was 60 percent engulfed in flames.
Firefighters say two woman, a mother and daughter, lived at the home and they were able to get out safely.
The Red Cross was called out to assist the two women and fire officials say the home is a total loss.
The fire is now under control but the cause is still under investigation.
