Tulsa police arrest 1 in shooting at midtown club; 1 man dead
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Tulsa police are investigating after a man was shot in midtown and later died.
Officers responded around 4 a.m. to a shooting at Route 66 Event Center near 11th and Sheridan. It's not clear exactly what happened at the club, but shortly after, police say a man knocked on someone's door near East 4th Street and South Fulton Avenue saying his friend had been shot.
Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker says it's possible that there were two different shooting scenes.
The man shot, 23-year-old Joshua Tibbs, died at the hospital, according to police.
TPD said Tibbs was found shot inside his vehicle near East 4th Place and South Yale Avenue where he had parked after driving away from the Event Center.
After investigating the scene and interviewing witnesses, police arrested 26-year-old Willie Banks for an unrelated warrant and First Degree Murder.
