Two in custody after a police chase ends in Mayes County

Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to an airplane that landed on a highway in Muskogee Saturday (FILE).

Two people are in police custody after a brief chase Saturday afternoon.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Mayes County Police Department, the chase started in Pryor and ending in a corn field in Mayes County near County Roads 425 and 570 Road.

During the pursuit, troopers say one of the occupants in the vehicle fire a round of shots and police. No one was injured.

OHP says a man and a woman were taken into custody.
