A community forum was held Monday night at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame to give the community a chance to talk about the death of Terence Crutcher.

The Black Flower Society sponsored the event called "Not Another Terence Crutcher." The forum included topics about understanding law enforcement policies and the procedures of policing.

Crutcher was killed by Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby on Sept. 16. She has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree manslaughter.

A panel of experts also discussed police encounters and how the community should move forward following the shooting death of Crutcher.

Retired police chief Drew Diamond spoke about the need for community policing.

"It takes a redeployment, it takes redesigning beats around neighborhoods," Diamond said. "It takes a lot of work. It can be done. It can be done fairly quickly. But it takes a commitment to change."
