Harrah spoils Fort Gibson's perfect season in 4A girls championship

Harrah wrecked Fort Gibson's perfect season and captured its first state championship since 1998.

Maddison Collyer scored 22 points to help Harrah defeat Fort Gibson 54-47 for the Class 4A girls state championship Saturday at State Fair Arena.

Collyer, and Oklahoma Christian signee, made 5 of 9 field goals and 11 of 14 free throws. Erika Ankney added 13 points and eight rebounds for Harrah (28-1), last year’s Class 4A runner-up.

Kabree Egdmon scored 12 points and Ali Christie added 11 for Fort Gibson (29-1), which reached the final for the first time since winning state in 2014. The Lady Tigers were unbeaten last season before losing in the state quarterfinals.

Fort Gibson led 24-21 at halftime, but Harrah opened the second half with a 15-1 run. Fort Gibson cut its deficit to 43-42 in the fourth quarter on a pair of 3-pointers by Christie.

Fort Gibson trailed by three and had the ball in the final minute, but couldn’t score.
