According to national sports personality and comedy writer Bill Simmons, there is a legitimate connection between Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony and the Thunder front office which could pay dividends for a blockbuster trade.

Oklahoma City Thunder assistant general manager Troy Weaver recruited Carmelo to Syracuse in the early 2000's while Weaver served as an assistant coach for the Orange. If Simmons' information is accurate, the big question becomes who would the Thunder realistically be willing to trade for a 33-year-old superstar who never had a sterling reputation as a team player?

The move of course would be the second blockbuster trade of the offseason for OKC. The Thunder recently acquired 4-time all-star Paul George from the Pacers for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

Carmelo Anthony would also have to waive his no-trade clause and according to most national reports, he prefers to be traded to the Houston Rockets or Cleveland Cavaliers.
