Cowgirl Basketball heading to Australia in August

Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team will embark on a four-game tour during its upcoming visit to Australia in August. The Cowgirls, who will head “Down Under’ on August 6, will make stops in Cairns, Melbourne and Sydney before returning home on August 18.

“Allowing us to experience all the places like Australia and what they have to offer while playing the game we love is just another reason why I love this university, coaching staff and team,” Cowgirl All-Big 12 performer Kaylee Jensen said.

“I have always been so grateful for the opportunities the coaches and Stillwater community have given me during my time at OSU. They have already exceeded my expectations.”

OSU will arrive in Melbourne on August 8 and play its first game the following day against the Victoria Country Under-18 squad.

On August 10, the Cowgirls will take on the Waverley Falcons after putting on a youth clinic for underprivileged youth in Melbourne. OSU will close out its time in Melbourne on August 11 by taking in an Australian Football League contest.

Upon arriving in Cairns on August 12, the Cowgirls will take in the Great Barrier Reef as well as Palm Cove before game No. 3 against the Cairns Dolphins on August 14.

OSU will travel to Sydney the following day and will tour the Sydney Opera House on the 16th before playing their fourth game of the trip that evening against Basketball Australia.

The trip will conclude with a climb of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on August 17.
