Former Oklahoma State University point guard Doug Gottlieb announced on his national radio program Friday that he has been informed he won't be the next head men's basketball coach of the Cowboys.

Gottlieb has deep ties to the program and Oklahoma. His wife is a native to the state while his father was a former assistant to legendary head coach Eddie Sutton.

Gottlieb has been a national sports radio host and network college basketball analyst for more than a decade but critics argue he lacks prior coaching experience. OSU is searching for a replacement for Brad Underwood; who left the program after just one season with a 20-13 record. That included a first round exit from the NCAA Tournament.
