OSU fires defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer
Oklahoma State University released a brief statement Thursday afternoon on behalf of head football coach Mike Gundy. Defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer won't be retained for the 2018 season.
Spencer spent 10 seasons as an assistant under Gundy; including a promotion to defensive coordinator in 2013. In Spencer's first season as defensive coordinator, he was nominated for the Broyles Award; given to college football's top assistant coach.
“I’m very appreciative for the 10 years of loyal service that Glenn Spencer gave to Oklahoma State,” Gundy said in the release. In 2017, the Cowboys' ranked 79th in total defense among FBS programs.
